Sharjah, Pakistan won the toss and batted first but had a bad start as they lost their first 2 wickets without scoring. Apart from Imad Wasim and Shadab Khan, all other batsmen failed to perform. Imad Wasim scored 64 runs and remained unbeaten.

Afghanistan chased the target of 131 runs but lost their first wicket at 30 runs when Usman Gani was dismissed for 7 runs. However, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran steadied the innings.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran shared a half-century partnership to recover from the early loss. Gurbaz scored 44 runs before getting dismissed, while Zadran scored 38 runs. Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi then played responsibly to secure a 7-wicket win for Afghanistan. Fazalhaq Farooqui, who bowled the best in the match, was awarded Player of the Match.
