As a struggling actor, Ranveer Singh too went through some ugly experiences during his struggling days before he played the lead character in Band Baaja Baaraat in 2010.
When Ranveer spoke to Deadline on the sidelines of the Marrakech International Film Festival, he recalled a moment when a producer invited him to his apartment, unleashing his dog on him just for fun.
Another time, someone pretended to offer him a role in a movie at a rather shady location.
As Ranveer shared, “This guy calls me to this seedy place. He asks, ‘Are you a hard worker, or a smart worker?’ Since I didn’t consider myself a smart worker, I said, “I think I’m a hard worker.” He is like, “Darling, be smart, be sexy” “He is like, ‘Darling, be smart, be sexy.'”
It was these unpleasant experiences during those three-and-a-half years that made Ranveer appreciate the opportunities he has today. He said, “It was those experiences that made me appreciate the opportunities I have now.”
As of right now, Ranveer Singh is the top leading male actor in Bollywood after working with all the biggies. He always attributes his success to Sanjay Leela Bhansali who gave him such leading roles as Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat.
He is today considered one of the best actors in Bollywood and is praised for his superb acting abilities as well as his unbeatable charm and aura, but it took him time to rise to fame.
In the opening night of the Marrakech International Film Festival, Ranveer danced to the Bajirao Mastani song “Malhari.” Ranveer is among the most sought-after Bollywood stars of the present day.
A couple of films are on the way to the actor, including Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty, and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, directed by Karan Johar, which also stars Ali Bhatt.
